Mashpee Affirmative Action Committee <br /> Meeting Minutes <br /> May 8, 2018 at 10:00 am <br /> Mashpee Town Hall <br /> Approved 6/12/19 <br /> Present: Chairman J. Marie Stevenson, Gail Wilson, Lynne Waterman, JoAnn Nadeau, Katherine <br /> Brown(Alternate) <br /> Also Present: Kim Landry-Affirmative Action Officer, Xavier Gonsalves (Non-Voting), Ruth <br /> Provost, Winnie Johnson-Graham <br /> Absent: Kim Morris <br /> CALL TO ORDER <br /> The meeting was called to order by Chairman Stevenson at 10 a.m. <br /> APPROVAL OF MINUTES April 10, 2018 <br /> There was a question regarding clarification whether Ms. Johnson-Graham had been appointed as a <br /> Tribal Council Member of the Committee. Chairman Stevenson stated that an original intent of the <br /> Committee was to have a member of the Tribe be part of the Committee and to ensure that the <br /> Committee be representative of various groups throughout Mashpee. <br /> MOTION: Ms. Wilson made a motion to approve the minutes. Ms. Nadeau seconded the <br /> motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> The Chair confirmed that there were currently five voting members of the Committee but that all <br /> members were welcome to participate in the meetings. <br /> APPOINTMENTS & HEARINGS <br /> None at this time <br /> COMMUNICATIONS & CORRESPONDENCE <br /> None at this time <br /> OLD BUSINESS <br /> Elect Co-Chair-The Chair indicated that there may be times when she would be unable to be <br /> present at a meeting, due to travel, and inquired whether there would be interest in electing a Co-Chair. <br /> Ms. Nadeau offered to serve as Co-Chair. <br /> MOTION: Ms. Waterman made a motion that JoAnn Nadeau is the Co-Chair. Ms. Wilson <br /> seconded the motion. All voted unanimously. <br /> Develop Mission/Vision Statement-Committee members had been invited to share their ideas <br /> for the Mission/Vision statement. It was the Chair's opinion that defining the Committee through a <br /> mission statement and title would create a better understanding of the intent of the Committee. Ms. <br /> Wilson recommended forming the group membership prior to developing the mission. Ms. Waterman <br /> suggested that a clearer definition of the Committee may create better clarity for anyone considering <br /> joining the Committee. Ms. Provost suggested that those who developed ideas about a Mission/Vision <br /> statement, share their thoughts with the Committee. <br />
