All students in grades 5-8 are invited to <br /> attend on Tuesday, January 10, 1995 from # 30 a.m.-2 : 00 p.m. <br /> during specials subject to the approval of their parents. <br /> Permission slips will go home with the students. Also, an <br /> .informational night for parents will be held on January 9th <br /> at the diddle school. from 7 :00 - p.m. r. Paxton asked <br /> about those students who did not return the permission slip. <br /> What would happen to them? Dr. DeMoura responded saying <br /> they would either be in a supervised classroom or go to the <br /> library. Dr. DeMoura recommended approval of the Health <br /> Fair. <br /> Maureen McKay, VNA nurse and HIV Coordinator, will be in <br /> charge of the AIDS Awareness table at the fair. She <br /> distributed literature to members that will be given to <br /> children and also displayed three posters that will be <br /> hung. she also distributed informational parent packets t <br /> the school Committee, Dr. DeMoura., and Mr. Tippo. <br /> Other organizations partaking in the Health Fair include <br /> Independence House, Emerson House and the American Cancer <br /> Society. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Consalvi, seconded by Dr. Petti, to <br /> approve the Health Fair to be held on Tuesday, January 1 , <br /> 1995 . <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> III * Deirdre Greelish spoke regarding the placement of new school <br /> Public initiatives, i.e. , the high school principal or alternative <br /> Forum education program as separate articles on the Town Meeting <br /> warrant and not keep in the school budget as separate lime <br /> iters. <br /> Kathy Lynch discussed the reorganization and her concerns <br /> over the funding of this concept and asked the Committee to <br /> postpone the implementation of the reorganization as more <br /> details need to be cleared up. She expressed concerns over <br /> bins schedules and the anticipated transportation savings as <br /> well as the number of students in a classroom. <br /> Kathleen Smith asked the Committee to reconsider the vote of <br /> changing the kindergarten entrance cutoff date of August 31 , <br /> 1 she felt children born between September 1, 1991 <br /> through November 31, 1391 would be forced to attend <br /> preschool for three years and thus, miss out on attending <br /> kindergarten in 1996. ' <br /> Diane Mulvey expressed her concern regarding purchase orders <br /> saying the entire School Committee should also review and <br />
