PAGE <br /> . 7 Eighth Grade Graduation - Dr. DeMoura reminded the <br /> Com ittee of the ekghth grade graduation ceremonies o <br /> June 13, 1995, at 7 : 00 p.m. , Middle School Gym. <br /> Vii . 7 . 1 Superintendent' s Evaluation - Maryanne Gibbs stated she <br /> Specifically was still working on this . <br /> Assigned. <br /> Unfinished 7 .2 School Year/School calendar T Policy Ic/ISA Dr. <br /> Business DeMoura presented Policy IC/ICA to the committee which <br /> stated that Elementary schools K- will operate 180 <br /> days and provide a minimum of goo instructional hours, <br /> and Secondary schools (7-12) will operate 180 days and <br /> provide a minimum of 990 instructional hours . <br /> Motion made by Mr. consalvi, seconded by Ms . Gibbs, to <br /> approve the School Year/School calendar - Policy IC/ICA as <br /> presented by Dr. DeMoura to be in compliance with <br /> Massachusetts General Law, chapter : 1D; 1I; 1G, Department <br /> of Education Regulations . <br /> . <br /> VOTE : Unanimous <br /> 7 . 3 1995--1996 School calendar - Dr. DeMoura presented the <br /> proposed 1995-1996 School calendar which indicates a <br /> change in the vacation schedule to coincide with the <br /> Falmouth High School calendar. <br /> Motion made by Mr. Paxton, seconded by Ms . Gibbs, to approve <br /> the 1995-1996 School calendar as presented by Dr. DeMcura. <br /> TOT; Unanimous <br /> 7 . 4 1995-1996 School Starting and Ending Time - Dr. DeMoura <br /> presented the proposed 1995-1996 <br /> school starting and <br /> ending time3s to the Committee. Dr. DeMoura stated that <br /> there had been a meeting one month ago to discuss <br /> transportation changes and presented to the committee <br /> Options 1 and 2, stating that option 1 would be the <br /> least disruptive and option 2 had experienced strong <br /> opposition from parents . He asked the Core,t t e e to <br /> decide which option in order that the parents could be <br /> no t i f l d before the end of the school year. A lengthy <br /> discussion ensued regarding various options that were <br /> available and the applicable pros and cons . A third <br /> option was discussed lased on a three tiered starting <br /> and stopping times . Mrs . Lynch stated that she had <br /> received Cal lot of phone calls from parents with the main <br /> concerns being the children' s safety and the turn around <br /> times for the buses . Mr .
