MA PEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - SPECIAL MEETING - JUNE 11 1995 PAGE Mrs . Gibbs, and the school council for their assistance in putting together the budget . Ix. 9 . 1 Laidlaw - Performance Bond waiver - Dr. DeMoura stated New Business that Laidlaw had asked the Committee to waive the requirement of a performance bona'. He stated that this had been done in the past wits"lout encountering any problems. Motion made by Mr. Consalvi, seconded by Ms . Gibbs, to waive the requirement of a performance bond from Laidlaw. VOTE : In favor: Mr. Consalvi, Ms . Gibbs . Abstaining: Mrs . Lynch, Mrs . Mills, Mr. Paxton 9.2 special Education - Program Plan - Dr. DeMoura asked Grace Day to address the Committee and present the SPED Three Year Program Plan Update for School Year 1995- 1996 . Mrs . Day went through the program plan and stated that this program was the compilation of many months o work. she stated that adequate notification was sera home to the parents as well as notices in the papers. She had derived information from doing surreys, inputs from parents, staff, students, -administrators,, and the public at large. Dr. DeMoura also presented correspondence from John Denaro stating his concerns regarding the program plan and that the public had not had enough input into the program. Mrs . Day reiterated the steps that she and her staff had gone through in compiling this plan. Motion made by Mr. Consalvi, seconded. by Ms . Gibbs, to accept the Special Education Three Year Program Plan for school year 1995-1996. VOTE: In favor: Mr. Consalvi, Ms . Gibbs, Mr. Paxton, Mrs . Mills . Abstaining: Mrs . Lynch 9. 3 school Choice - Mrs . Mills read Dr. DeMourals letter which recommended not participating in the School Choice program. Motion made by Mr. Consalvi, seconded by Mrs . lynch, to not participate in the School Choice program for the 1995-1996 school year. VOTE : Unanimous
