MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR ULAR MEETING - JULY 5f 1995 PACE 6 16, 1995, and the meeting to discuss this draft is scheduled for Wednesday, July 2 6, 1995, in the Superintendent' s office. VII . 7 . 1 Surplus Equipment Dr. DeMoura asked the School New Business Co=ittee to declare the following equipment as surplus, as they were not useable and too costly to be repaired.. � 1 e . Califone Cassette Recorder Model 31300, #1234 1 ea. Dukane Filmstrip Prof . 2 A 1 C, Serial. #1500532 1 ea. Argos Portable PA 'System CD, Serial #LSD6 4 E 1 ea. B & H Cassette recorder Model 31 , Serial #68610400 1 ea. Centennial Cassette Recorder Model - 6A, no serial number Motion made by Ms . Lynch, seconded by Ms . Gibbs, to deem the above equipment as surplus . VOTE : Unanimous .2 Reorganization of Central Administration - Dr. DeMoura presented a proposal for a policy change which would combine the Director of Instruction and Director of SPED positions into a new position of Assistant Superintendent, which would be a management position. Dr. DeMoura outlined the advantages to this proposal . He proposed this policy change to go into effect in September 1996. A lengthy discussion was held with the Committee determining that they required more time to study this proposal . Mrs . Mills suggested discussing this at the July 26, 1995, School Committee meeting. She stated that the Committee members needed to gather more information before raking a decision. Ms . Gibbs asked Dr. DeMoura for the job descriptions of all the positions affected. 7 . 3 Brazilian Exchange Student Mashpee Dost Family - Dr. DeMoura stated he had received a phone call from a i M sh ee host family of Brazilian exchange student requesting approval from the School Committee for this student to attend Falmouth High School . He explained that by giving permission, the town of Mashpee would have to pay this student' s tuition. As the dost family was not present at the meeting, Dr. DeMoura suggested
