The special meeting of the school Committee was called to <br /> Call Meeting order by Chairperson Janice Mills, at 00 p.m. in the <br /> to order conference Room of the Superintendent of Schools' office . <br /> Attendees: school Committee - Janice Mills, Maryanne Gibbs, <br /> David Consalvi, Stephen Paxton, and Kathleen Lynch. <br /> Administration; Dr. Lincoln DeMoura, Kenneth C. Coombs <br /> Principal Fick Feldman, Mashpee High School Principal John <br /> Williams . <br /> 11 . 2 . 1 Principles of Effective Teaching and Effective <br /> Specifically Administrative Leadership ! firs. Mills presented. the <br /> Assigned draft of the Principles of Effective Teaching and <br /> Business Effective Administrative Leadership from the Department <br /> of Education. she asked Dr. DeMoura to review the draft <br /> with Committee members . Dr. DeMoura presented a <br /> complete, item by item review of the draft. Dr. DeMoura <br /> stated that in order to be in compliance, the committee <br /> would need to have something in place by September 1996. <br /> He suggested that once the final version is received <br /> from the Department of Education, a public hearing be <br /> scheduled for the community, followed by a School <br /> Committee meeting to finalize this policy. <br /> 2 .2 Reorganization of central office -- Dr. DeMoura began by <br /> reviewing the course of events which included the <br /> recently concluded negotiations with the Unit <br /> contract. He stated that during these negotiations, the <br /> plan to combine these two positions had been discussed. <br /> He stated that the plan was to reassign these positions <br /> and not to lay anyone off. He also stated the need for <br /> someone to work during the summer, especially in the <br /> area of Special Education. Dr, DeMoura presented a <br /> rough financial plan for the Town of Mashpee School <br /> system. He presented a proposal to reorganize and t <br /> reassign some personnel. <br /> RECEIVED <br /> A89 3 o Ellen Danis from the Teachers' Association presented a <br /> EWk 1995 written statement to the School committee stating that <br /> TOW <br /> CtERK the Teachers Association was against this proposal. <br />
