i <br /> MA HPEE PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br /> PUBLIC HEARING <br /> SEPTEMBER 11, 1995 <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: School Committee -- Chairperson Janice Mills,, Steve <br /> Paxton, David Consalvi, Kathy Lynch, Newly-appointed Theresa Cook <br /> also attended although she is not officially sworn in as a School. <br /> Committee member, <br /> I. Mrs. sills called the Public Dearing to order at <br /> Public p.m. in the Middle School Library. <br /> Hearing <br /> Called to order <br /> II . Br, D Moura read aloud the public notice for <br /> Reading of tonight's hearing. <br /> Public Notice <br /> III, Mrs, Mills introduced Dr. Lincoln A. DeMoura who <br /> Presentation gave an overview of the Education Reform Act of <br /> by Superin- 1993 wherein the Evaluation of Teachers and <br /> tenent Administrators is mandated. <br /> IST, Discussion among the School. Co nittee then followed <br /> Discussion on the ramifications of the teachers and adminis- <br /> trators regulations. <br /> V, At this point, public input was encouraged. <br /> Public Input <br /> 5 ,01 Pro onents - Mrs, Mills asked for any proponents to <br /> the public hearing discussion. There were none. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 ,2 onents - Mrs. Mills then asked for any opponents <br /> to tonight's public hearing. There were none. <br /> vie With no further discussion, Mrs. Mills closed the <br /> Close Public public input portion of the hearing. <br /> Input <br /> VII, Mr. Consalvi moved that the School Committee, acting <br /> Approval/ on the recommendation of the Superintendent, Grote <br /> Disapproval to adopt the Board of Education's Principles of <br /> Effective Teaching as the performance standards for <br /> teachers in the Mashpee Public Schools and direct <br /> the Superintendent to notify the Mashpee Teachers f <br /> Association of this Grote and of the Committee's <br /> readiness to undertake for a reasonable period of <br /> time to agree with the Association on teacher <br />
