MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - SPECIAL MEETING JANUARY Y 11, 1996 PACE 4 <br /> 5 .2 Pringipal ' Report <br /> 5*2 . 1 Middle School - Mr. Tippo reported that the Winter <br /> Concert that had taken place earlier in the evening went <br /> very well; the basketball season has commenced; and a <br /> visitor from ComElectric was in recently to discuss the <br /> safety program. <br /> 5e2 .2 High School - Mr. Williams reported that the Grade <br /> team of teachers is working on a Civil war project; the High <br /> School Council meeting discussion centered around the <br /> student handbook; and he is keeping tabs on the progression <br /> of the high school construction. <br /> 5 .2 .3 Coombs School - Mr. Feldman reported that "'things are <br /> going nicely, " on February 15, Grades 4, 5, and 6 in both <br /> schools will be going to the Zeiterion Theater to see the <br /> Alvin Alley Dance Theatre, <br /> 5.3 Enrollments - Dr. Deioura reviewed the enrollment figures <br /> for January which showed a total of 1,791 students in grades <br /> preschool-Grade 12; Cape Cod Tech, 5 . <br /> 5 .4 Food Service Update -- Dr. DeMoura reviewed the October food i <br /> service printout depicting a profit o $4,616. 18 which <br /> inclddes- a one-tune ad"ustment for inventory as discussed at <br /> the September meeting. <br /> 5.5 FY9 Monthly DetdL --F e ie t - Dr. I e ioura asked the Committee <br /> if they had questions on either the November or December <br /> printouts. Mr. Paxton asked if any changes had been made in <br /> special education. D . Deioura said there have been no out- <br /> o -district placements made lately. Mrs. Lynch questioned <br /> that if a Falmouth High School student is initially placed <br /> as a tuitioned student and later that student becomes a <br /> special needs student, do the placement fees come from the <br /> regular budget? Dr. DeMoura responded, yes. <br /> 5. 6 30J60-Day Plan - Dr. DeMoura said he and 'John Williams have <br /> net with the staff and discussed this topic. As a result o <br /> those discussions, Dr. Deloura recommended placing this plan <br /> on "hold" as expectations are to occupy space in the high <br /> school in September of 1996. However, if in April or May <br /> and those expectations are not realized, he will then bring <br /> this issue back to -the Committee then. <br /> Mrs. Lynch asked if insurance is needed with students in a <br /> building under construction. Dr. DeMoura said there is no <br /> need for insurance. <br /> PMr' . Paxton suggested revisiting this issue in Manch. <br />
