Committee only in the <br /> Superintendent's Office. <br /> Monday, January 29, 7:00 p.m. Joint meeting between the <br /> _ <br /> School Committee and School Councils in the Middle School <br /> Library. <br /> 7 .7 Forward F97 Budget to Board of Selectmen and Finance <br /> Committee for Informational Purposes - Motion made by Mr. <br /> onsalvi, seconded. by Mrs. Cook, to forward the FY97 budget <br /> to the Board of selectmen and Finance Committee. <br /> VOTE: [unanimous <br /> 7 .8 Gas Burners - Middle School - As part of their energy <br /> conservation program, Dr. DeMoura explained that Colonial <br /> Gas will pay most of the cost of replacing the20-year-old <br /> units with burners that are more energy-ef ficient. Cost of <br /> the work would total. $42,545 with only $6,000 to be paid by <br /> the school Department while Colonia. Gas would subsidize the <br /> retaining $36,545. Work would be done during February <br /> school vacation weep. Dr, DeMoura recommended proceeding <br /> with this proposal.. <br /> Motion Made by Mr. C nsal.vi, seconded by Mrs. Cook, to have <br /> Colonial_ Gas convert the Middle School. burners. <br /> Mrs. Lynch asked is the money coring from to pay? Dr. <br /> eMoura said it would come from the gas account. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> STIII. 8. 1 Sub-Committee Deport <br /> committee <br /> Reports 8. 1. 1 I goti ation - To be discussed in executive session. <br /> 8. 1.2 High School Committee - Mr. Williams reported that <br /> the high school handbook is currently being worked on by the <br /> committee. <br /> . <br /> 3. 1.3 Elementary School - Mrs. Cook said a meeting took <br /> place on December 3 and discussion focused on progress <br /> report, splitting the Middle School into two schools in <br /> September, scheduling of sub-committee meetings on a regular <br /> basis; overcrowding in Middle school to be alleviated when <br /> split into two schools; it was decided this committee would <br /> meet every six weeks or so. <br />
