MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING -• APRIL 3, 1996 PAGE 6.2 Eighth Grade Graduation Date June 2 1996 - Motion made by Mr. Consalvi, seconded by Mrs. Cook, that Monday, June 24 , 1996 will be the eighth grade graduation ceremony. VOTE: Unanimous 6 . 3 Last Day of School. - June 25, 1996 - Motion made by Mrs. Lynch that Tuesday, June 2 , 1996 will be the 180th day of school contingent upon no more snow days. The motion was seconded by Mr. Paxton. VOTE: Unanimous 6.4 Article in Support of RAGE - Mrs, Lynch said at the May Town Meeting, an article under "Legal Fees" will include $5,000 for support of RAGE (Residents Angry About Government Equity) , Motion made by Mrs. Lynch, seconded by M '. Paxton, to support the $5,000 figure in "Legal Fees" in the warrant. VOTE: Unanimousr 6 ,5 Choice Note - Dr, DeMoura explained that each year, school districts must vote to either become a school choice district or not. This Grote must be made prior to June 1 . Motion made by Mr. Consalvi, seconded by Mrs. Cook, for Mashpee not to become a choice school district. VOTE: Unanimous 6. 6 FY97 Bulg - Included in the packet was the latest printout with $8,412, 702 as the bottom line for FY97. Dr. DeMoura 4 said although the latest Committee reductions -were incorporated, an additional $12,702 in reductions must be made* I* There was no business to discuss under this heading. Committee continues to work on the student Handbook. Mrs. . Cook asked if school accreditation will be affected if the school opening is delayed. Mr. Williams was confident that would not be a problem. 8. 1.3 Elementary school - Mrs. Cook asked the Committee if they thought it would be necessary this committee to meet before the May regular school Committee.
