MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING - APRIL 3. 1996 PAGE <br /> 8.2 External�Reorts <br /> 8.2 . 1 Cape Cod ,Collaborative - Mr. Consal.vi reported on a <br /> meeting held on March 7 , 1996 where the Municipal Finance <br /> Workshop was discussed; Sandwich and Iauset have expressed <br /> an interest in becoming part of the Substitute Call Service; <br /> special education transportation has ,increased in <br /> Barnstable; and Mashpee will use one classroom to house the <br /> Collaborative next year. <br /> 8.2 .2 Leisure Services - Mrs. Cook said there was no quorum <br /> at their meeting o April Their next meeting is set four <br /> May 7 at 6: 30 p. , <br /> 8 .2 .3 School Building orn ittee - firs. Mills said the high <br /> school will have a good program once it is opened. She <br /> could not give a confirmed opening date but a positive <br /> attitude needs to be maintained by everyone. There will be <br /> s a location to house the high school students in September. <br /> Dr. DeMoura was asked to sena a letter to the high school <br /> building committee asking if the high school will open as <br /> scheduled for students and if not, how long thereafter can <br /> occupancy take place. <br /> 8 .2 .4 Legislation - Mrs. Mills said meetings are being held <br /> regarding education reform and that MA.SC regularly sends out <br /> informative bulletins of such meetings. <br /> 8,2 .5 Safe Transportation Task Force - Mr. Paxton said the <br /> next meeting is scheduled for April. 9, 199.6 at 7 : 00 p.m. in <br /> the Superintendent's office, <br /> 8.2 .6 Personnel - Mrs. Cook said this committee ret on <br /> March 15 where the recent Job Fairs were discussed. Dr. <br /> DeMoura, Robert Tippo, and Dennis Hansford attended the U - <br /> Ma s/Boston Job Fair on March 26, 1996 and resumes received <br /> there are being followed up on. Also, a Job Fair was held <br /> at Bridgewater State College on March 27 where Dr. DeMoura, <br /> Mr. Williams and Mr. Hansford received some inquiries. The <br /> last job fair will be the MERC one to be held on April 17th <br /> and 18th. Dir. DeMoura suggested that the Personnel <br /> Committee meet again to discuss all job fairs. <br /> IX, Mrs. Mills reiterated that the S.M.P.T.E, induction will be <br /> Other held on April. 25 at the Middle School. <br /> Mr. Paxton questioned the music lessons reduction and could <br /> the music teachers possibly be released to conduct the <br /> lessons. Dr. DeMoura responded saying that could be done <br /> but someone would have to be hired to supervise the other <br /> children. <br />
