r <br /> a <br /> s <br /> MAS HPHH SCHOOL COMMITTEE RE UI AR MEETING JULY 81, 1996 PAGE 7 <br /> 6.9 Reorganization - Dr. DeMoura stated that as a result of the <br /> June meeting, notices will be posted and a master calendar <br /> of activities will be devised. <br /> If ars activity goes on between schools, i.e. , testing, Dr. <br /> DeMoura said the Superintendentfs office will send out <br /> notices; if an activity occurs wit in a specific school the <br /> principal will be sending out the notices, Alsopre-first <br /> discussion on where to hold the program good place. Dr. <br /> DeMoura will discuss this issue with the principals. Mrs. <br /> Lynch questioned the number of kindergarten classes. she <br /> said the kindergarten special education numbers were e high <br /> and took until March last g <br /> year for any special education <br /> teacher relief. The asked if there was any way to expedite <br /> that situation this year. r. DeMoura will look into this. <br /> Mr. Paxton clarif led that there will be two art classrooms, <br /> one science room and one music area. With- the added rooms, <br /> he asked what the forecast was on how many years we can use <br /> the Coombs school. Dr. DeMoura answered that if enrollments <br /> keep increasing in 2002, there will be no rooms anywhere and <br /> construction of another school will need to be discussed as <br /> all schools will be filled to capacity. <br /> Mrs. Lynch asked about computer labs. Dr. DeMoura said <br /> there will be one at the Middle- and one at the Coombs <br /> School. There are no plans currently for additional lams. <br /> Dr. DeMoura said the focus should be on classrro s,, not <br /> labs. However, there will be anew computer lab at the <br /> Coombs School and one upgraded at the Middle school. Ms. <br /> Macdonald questioned the number of special education <br /> teachers and their locations. <br /> Mrs. Lynch referred to last month's meeting where she was <br /> accused on micromanaging and said it's the responsibility of <br /> the School ' omml-ttee to check their policies and ensure the <br /> are being implemented. Also during that same meeting, she <br /> was told she was not doing a very good job raising her <br /> children because she "was negative, " Her response to that <br /> comment was r "The way I raise my children is nay own personal <br /> life- - -I 'm willing to debate an issue with anybody but <br /> prefer you leave my children out of this. " <br /> . 10 A encu Pre aration and Dissemination Pol is - DDB - At the <br /> June meeting, Mrs* Lynch asked if the Finance Committee <br /> Liaison could receive the School Committee packet that is <br /> distributed prior to each meeting. At that time, Dr. <br /> DeMoura said the policy would have to be revised and voted <br /> upon at the August meeting. Mr. Paxton asked if the Finance <br /> Committee Liaison could receive any financial information <br /> from the packet. Dre DeMoura will revise this polio for <br /> the Committee's approval at the August meeting. <br />
