MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE EMERGENCY MEETIVG AUGUST 29, - 1996 <br /> PAGE <br /> Ms. Macdonald said she contacted two portable classroom companies <br /> who informed her it would take only two weeks to set up. However, <br /> Mar. Williams said it would also take time to obtain occupancy <br /> permits for these portable classrooms. <br /> Regarding additional expenses that have been incurred since July 23 <br /> (the day the school was originally scheduled to be ready) . Dr. <br /> Deloura said costs will be trached daily and reimbursement from the <br /> contractor (Stone) will be requested through an article on the <br /> warrant at the special town meeting. <br /> Mrs. Lynch expressed concern regarding that idea saying , What if we <br /> lose on the town floor? If we lose, we'll be out of money by May <br /> Then what " <br /> Mrs'. Mills suggested approaching the Finance Committee for <br /> assistance, in handling this issue. <br /> When asked how much money we're talking about, Dr. DeMoura said <br /> that figure is unknown at this time. <br /> Mrs. Lynch suggested informing teacher association of the above- <br /> mentioned plans before the proposed delay woes into effect to iron <br /> out any work-related issues, other members of the Committee <br /> agreed. <br /> After much more discussion, a motion was made by Mrs. Mills and <br /> seconded by Mrs. Cook, to suspend' school for grades 7 , 8, and 9 on <br /> September 4, 5, and 6. <br /> VO Unanimous <br /> More discussion followed regarding placing on hold a request from <br /> the Cape Cod Collaborative to use a classroom in the Middle School <br /> until the high school students are out. Dr. DeMoura has informed <br /> the Collaborative of this. <br /> Also Mr. Williams said high school sport tryouts will have to be <br /> rescheduled. <br /> Mr. Williams assured the Committee that the grades would be kept <br /> together. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Lynch, seconded by Mrs. Mills, to move into <br /> executive session at p.m. <br /> Rall Call vote: In favor Mr. Paxton, Mrs, Lynch, Mrs. Cook, Mrs. <br /> Mills, and Ms. Macdonald; opposed none. <br />
