MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE EMERGENCY MEETIVG AUGUST 29, - 1996 PAGE Ms. Macdonald said she contacted two portable classroom companies who informed her it would take only two weeks to set up. However, Mar. Williams said it would also take time to obtain occupancy permits for these portable classrooms. Regarding additional expenses that have been incurred since July 23 (the day the school was originally scheduled to be ready) . Dr. Deloura said costs will be trached daily and reimbursement from the contractor (Stone) will be requested through an article on the warrant at the special town meeting. Mrs. Lynch expressed concern regarding that idea saying , What if we lose on the town floor? If we lose, we'll be out of money by May Then what " Mrs'. Mills suggested approaching the Finance Committee for assistance, in handling this issue. When asked how much money we're talking about, Dr. DeMoura said that figure is unknown at this time. Mrs. Lynch suggested informing teacher association of the above- mentioned plans before the proposed delay woes into effect to iron out any work-related issues, other members of the Committee agreed. After much more discussion, a motion was made by Mrs. Mills and seconded by Mrs. Cook, to suspend' school for grades 7 , 8, and 9 on September 4, 5, and 6. VO Unanimous More discussion followed regarding placing on hold a request from the Cape Cod Collaborative to use a classroom in the Middle School until the high school students are out. Dr. DeMoura has informed the Collaborative of this. Also Mr. Williams said high school sport tryouts will have to be rescheduled. Mr. Williams assured the Committee that the grades would be kept together. Motion made by Mrs. Lynch, seconded by Mrs. Mills, to move into executive session at p.m. Rall Call vote: In favor Mr. Paxton, Mrs, Lynch, Mrs. Cook, Mrs. Mills, and Ms. Macdonald; opposed none.
