Page 8 <br /> Mashpee School Committee <br /> Minutes-Regular Meeting <br /> October 2, 1996 <br /> V. 6.8 School Pupil Transport Vehicle <br /> Report of <br /> the Super- The Legislature amended Section 7D of Chapter 90 of the General <br /> intendent Laws, effective July 1, 1996 to articulate the rules governing the <br /> (continued) transportation of school pupils. <br /> In general, all vehicles used to provide "fixed route" transportation of <br /> school pupils are subject to the requirements of Section 7D indicated <br /> Dr.DeMoura who noted that this also applies to extra curricular activities. <br /> It was noted that additional license fees and annual physicals will be <br /> necessary to adhere to the amended Legislation. <br /> In addition,Dr.DeMoura further reviewed amendments to the 1996 <br /> Education related Legislation. (enclosed) <br /> 6.9 End of Year Report <br /> Dr.DeMoura reviewed the 1995 - 1996 End of Year Pupil and Financial <br /> Report with members of the School Committee. As noted, the summary <br /> as presented provides a detailed and comprehensive analysis that is <br /> categorized to track each line item expenditure. <br /> Educational Reform has calculated an expenditure of$5,500 for each <br /> student per fiscal year informed Dr. DeMoura who noted that Mashpee <br /> is currently expending the sum of$4,505 per pupil. <br /> We are addressing net school spending, and should reach our target <br /> foundation in three years indicated Dr. DeMoura. <br /> 6.10 Playground Map <br /> Communication was received from Louise Doyle,Principal of the <br /> Elementary School dated September 16, 1996 relative to a proposed <br /> playground map project. <br /> Mrs. Joy Blackwood, Grade 6 teacher of the Elementary School was <br /> present to discuss the creation of a colorful painted playground map with <br /> members of the School Committee. <br />
