SPECIAL SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING <br /> NOVEMB8R 21, 1996 <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: School Committee - Chairman Stephen Paxton, Theresa <br /> Cook and Maryanne Macdonald. Kathleen Lynch attending a Booster,' <br /> Club meeting arrived at - 7 : 30 p.m. Janice Millswas absent this <br /> evening. <br /> Administration Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lincoln A, DeMoura. <br /> Guest Speaker - Town Planner F, Thomas Fudala. <br /> Mr. Paxton called the meeting to order at p.m, in the Middle <br /> School Conference Room. <br /> Town Planner Tori Fudala ' presented to the School Committee the <br /> "School Facilities„ draft portion of the "Town of Mashpee <br /> Comprehensive Plan. " In his report, Mr. Fudala estimates that clue <br /> to ever-increasing enrollments the need for' a new elementary school <br /> or junior high . school will be sometime between 2002 and 2004 . <br /> Dr, DeMoura estimates that by 2002, there will beapproximately <br /> 600-900 additional students attending Mashpee schools. Mr. <br /> Fudalafs figures are broken down into two groups: low-growth, <br /> projections that rely on births recorded with the town clerk' <br /> office; and high-growth, projections that rely on Mashpee births j <br /> recorded with the state. The high-growth figures are higher <br /> Discussion then centered on the possible location of this' new <br /> facility.
