MA HPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - SPECIAL MEETING ING OVEMB 1, 1996
PAGE TWO
Mr. Fu iala said this would be a "win -win" situation because
the
Club
could move to a location that is not in a residential area and
the town could have a school near a high student population.
Mr. Fudala noted that the town may want to reserve town-owned land
near I ash ee High- School especially if a need exists to building a
junior high school, However, Mr, Fudaia pointed out that this land
is also being considered for affordable housing and for
conservation land as part of the Mashpee Wildlife Refuge.
The last choice is approximately o acres of town-owned land near
Orchard Road. However, because it is- near ' a public water well,
constructing a school on this site is unlikely.
On a motion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by firs. Lynch, the special
meeting adjourned at 8: 10 p.m.
VOTE: nnim s
Respectfully submitted,
Marjorie Re O'Brien
School Committee Secretary
f
k
