Mrs, <br /> Lynch'. asked how will we know if wefre in deficit? Dr. <br /> DeMourat said not until we know the outcome of the high <br /> school delayed opening expenses issue. <br /> Mrs. Mills asked "Are we currently on testing and paperwork, <br /> i•e. , IEPs, on special education students?" Dr, DeMoura <br /> said he would check with the Special Education Director <br /> Grace Day. <br /> .4 Meeting with Selectmen and Finance Committee - As <br /> mentioned earlier, a tentative meeting date has been set for <br /> January 2 , 1997 for a joint meeting with the School <br /> Committee, Board of Selectmen and Finance Committee. <br /> 6.5 Enrollments - Dr. DeMoura said we currently have 1 r 62 <br /> students in ps-Grade 12 , Cape Cod Tech enrollments total <br /> 9 , <br /> Mays. Mills said students who move out of town and leave the <br /> system are not the question here but what' about the students <br /> who drop out What happens to them? Also, Mrs. Lynch noted <br /> there were two Grade 12 students who left Falmouth High <br /> School in one month and questioned why. Dr. DeMoura -will <br /> investigate. <br /> . Gifted Pro cram - Dr, DeMoura introduced the Director of <br /> Instruction Patricia Parolski who outlined the gifted and <br /> talented program for students in grades 4 , 5, and 6. Mrs. <br /> Parolski reported that 61 students demonstrated academic <br /> giftedness (scoring 135 on the test) with 11 students <br /> surpassing 135 or better. Mr. Paxton asked what does the <br /> test consist of Mrs. Parolski answered haat it f s a 45- <br /> minute verbal exchange between the School Psychologist and <br /> the student. After giving a brief update on this program, <br /> Mrs. Parolski introduced the teacher of theg ifted and <br /> talented program, Lisa levans, <br /> Mrs. Ke <br />
