SH EE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR LA MEETING JANUARY 8. 1997 PAGE display some- of the projects the students had devised. 6,7 FY98 Budget -- Dr. DeMoura gave a presentation on the FY98 budget stating that it reflects growth taking place in the high school, in the special education program, with various- out-of-district tuition accounts, as well as growth in .general in- the district. The FY98 budget projected figure is $10, 947, 7. 10 . 6 .8 Network Manager Job Description - Included in the packet was a job description for the school. Department's Network Manager position. Dr, DeMoura checked with the Town's Personnel Department for the salary grange of the Town's Network Administrator. That five-step range is $38, 923-$46f336* Therefore, Dr. DeMoura recommended an- annual salary of $38,923 for the Network Manager. Motion made by Mgrs. Lynch, seconded by firs. Mills, to hire a Network Manager with a step one salary of $38, 923 . VOTE: Unanimous .9 Air Qualitv Report - Dr. DeMotra introduced Vincent corsano, Vice President of Engineering Company, Inc. of Canton. Mr. Corsano addressed the Committee on an air quality analysis Ornade of the Coombs School and Middle School, In his report, Mr. Corsano said the probable cuase f the on-going our quality problems is that in the Coombs School, the design of the climate control systems do not allow for proper air recirculation. Also, heating is extremely inefficient and classrooms are not being properly humidified. Also, he said the recommended humidity at the Coombs school should be 70 but during testing procedures, it was found to be only 17%. Mr. Corsano also expressed concern over the current climate control may not conform to building code standards. Mr. Richard Volkin, President of Engineering Company, Inc. , said that current codes require so much air be discharged from the system every hour and both schools were well under that requirement. . 9. 1 - Article for Air Quality Problems at the K. C, Coombs School - After their presentation, Dr. DeMoura recommended .identifying the problems as mentioned above) and work toward planning resolutions. He recommended an article to be presented at the May Town Meeting for $140,000 to fund air quality improvements at the Kenneth C. Coombs School. As a result of the, •above air quality report, Dra DeMoura drafted an article for the Town Meeting asking for $140,000 for repair of the Coombs School air duality problems.
