SH EE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR LA MEETING JANUARY 8. 1997 PAGE <br /> display some- of the projects the students had devised. <br /> 6,7 FY98 Budget -- Dr. DeMoura gave a presentation on <br /> the FY98 budget stating that it reflects growth taking place <br /> in the high school, in the special education program, with <br /> various- out-of-district tuition accounts, as well as growth <br /> in .general in- the district. The FY98 budget projected <br /> figure is $10, 947, 7. 10 . <br /> 6 .8 Network Manager Job Description - Included in the <br /> packet was a job description for the school. Department's <br /> Network Manager position. Dr, DeMoura checked with the <br /> Town's Personnel Department for the salary grange of the <br /> Town's Network Administrator. That five-step range is <br /> $38, 923-$46f336* Therefore, Dr. DeMoura recommended an- <br /> annual salary of $38,923 for the Network Manager. <br /> Motion made by Mgrs. Lynch, seconded by firs. Mills, to hire a <br /> Network Manager with a step one salary of $38, 923 . <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> .9 Air Qualitv Report - Dr. DeMotra introduced Vincent <br /> corsano, Vice President of Engineering Company, Inc. of <br /> Canton. Mr. Corsano addressed the Committee on an air <br /> quality analysis Ornade of the Coombs School and Middle <br /> School, In his report, Mr. Corsano said the probable cuase <br /> f the on-going our quality problems is that in the Coombs <br /> School, the design of the climate control systems do not <br /> allow for proper air recirculation. Also, heating is <br /> extremely inefficient and classrooms are not being properly <br /> humidified. Also, he said the recommended humidity at the <br /> Coombs school should be 70 but during testing procedures, <br /> it was found to be only 17%. <br /> Mr. Corsano also expressed concern over the current climate <br /> control may not conform to building code standards. <br /> Mr. Richard Volkin, President of Engineering Company, Inc. , <br /> said that current codes require so much air be discharged <br /> from the system every hour and both schools were well under <br /> that requirement. <br /> . 9. 1 - Article for Air Quality Problems at the K. C, Coombs <br /> School - After their presentation, Dr. DeMoura recommended <br /> .identifying the problems as mentioned above) and work <br /> toward planning resolutions. He recommended an article to <br /> be presented at the May Town Meeting for $140,000 to fund <br /> air quality improvements at the Kenneth C. Coombs School. <br /> As a result of the, •above air quality report, Dra DeMoura <br /> drafted an article for the Town Meeting asking for $140,000 <br /> for repair of the Coombs School air duality problems. <br />
