qh <br /> M SHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR MEETING JANUARY 8, 1997 PAGE <br /> . 10 STE/Fleet Center Project - Dr. DeMoura introduced <br /> audio-visual. technical Michael Pietrowski who addressed the <br /> Committee asking their approval to establish a school-to- <br /> work opportunity for members of the Society of Motion <br /> Picture & Television Engineers section and audio--visual <br /> staff t do camera -support operations (grip) for Boston <br /> Celtics games at the Fleet- Center in Boston. The first <br /> trip to the Fleet Center would be on a trial basis with the <br /> possibility of doing more games in the future. The students <br /> must agree to make up all school work. <br /> Dr. L eMoura recommended approval of this activity. <br /> Mrs, Lynch made a motion to approve the use of a school <br /> vehicle - and for Mr. Pietrowski to ask Dr. DeM ra <br /> permission prior to attending these events. The motion was <br /> seconded by Mrs. Cook. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous <br /> Mr. Pietrowski then introduced Joseph Yu ka, Program <br /> Director for Continental Cablevision. Mr. Yuska said the <br /> Continental is willing to offer a program. which will provide <br /> education in various technology fields as well as enhancing <br /> what we currently have* <br /> . 11 Foundation Reserve Pro ram - Dare DeMoura explained the <br /> correspondence received from the Board of Selectmenfs office <br /> wherein a letter to Commissioner Antonucci from the Board 'o � <br /> Selectmen applying for funding in the amount o $1,500,, 000 <br /> under the Department's Foundation Reserve Procram <br /> 6 . 12 Ski Trip Re uests - High school Principal John Williams <br /> presented the Committee with two Ski Club requests for <br /> upcoming out-of-state ski trips. They were: <br /> Saturday, January 1 , 1997 to Ragged Mountain New Hampshire <br /> Friday, Saturday, Sunday, March 21, 22, and 2 , 1997 to <br /> Sunday River, Maine., <br /> Ms. Macdonald what grades would be going? Mr,; Williams will <br /> check into which grades. <br /> Mrs. Mills stressed liability should not' be under the guise <br /> of the school Committee. Dr, DeMoura explained that in <br /> order to obtain discounts at these ski resorts, the ski Club <br /> utilizes "Mashpee Public Schools" . Mrs. . Millssuggested <br /> asking Falmouth what they do when signing up for ski trips. <br /> Dr. DeMoura will contact Falmouth. <br /> Motion made.. y Mrs. Lynch, seconded by Ms. Macdonald to <br />
