School Committee Special Meeting - e r g 24, 1997 <br /> Page Three <br /> Mrs. Lynch said, " e have to sell it to the community." <br /> At this point, the Committee agreed to look at the total budget rather- than <br /> piecemeal. <br /> Mr. Paxton said Selectmen's recommendation of $9,400,000 is unrealistic and <br /> cannot be met while Mrs. Lynch suggested having a budget devised for <br /> $10,900,000; one for $10,600,000; and one for $10,300,000. The Committee <br /> asked for the administrative costs to be included in these figure§. <br /> Mrs. Lynch asked for specificity on the technology plan, i.e., ghat are vire <br /> aiming for? what are vire going to have once the technology plan is fully <br /> implemented She expressed concern over the amount of money budget for <br /> technology. She went on to say the Committee approved a five-year technology <br /> plan and the first-year recommendations should be followed as outlined in the <br /> technology plan. She stressed that there is a plan in place now and those <br /> guidelines should be followed. <br /> Ms. Macdonald na.ld revisited the textbook questions as mentioned at the February <br /> 20, 1997 meeting. <br /> Discussion followed regarding math books. <br /> The next FY98 budget meeting is- scheduled for Tuesday, March 11, 1997 a <br /> 7:00 p.m. in High School Room B103. <br /> Mrs. Lynch suggested inviting the Finance Committee to the Larch 20, 1997 <br /> meetirng.
