i 4ASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE MITT - REGULAR MEETING - APRIL 2, 199+7 PAGE Mr. Paxton asked to move the Student Advisory council discussion up at this point. High school Student Advisory Council member Chris Maguire addressed Itudent the Committee stating that there is no bus to the Quashnet Schools for dvisory practice sessions and the high school students participants are required ouncil to be dismissed from their 7th period class. Dace at the Quashnet Schools, Chris sale the students are not allowed to change here. Dr. eMoura Will investigate why this is happening. Peter Dinizio suggested budgeting for an athletic bus for next year. Dr. DeMoura will to this. Ashley Davis reported the field hockey field at the high school is under regulation. She said for this year, that poses no problem; however, next year, that will not be allowed. 8.4 Ouashnet schools' ala ound Update - Mr. Tippo updated the i Committee on the status of the Quashnet schools playground. He said 860,000 pennies have been raised so far, but more is needed to be raised so the program will continue. A meeting with the Massachusetts National Guard was held to discuss ground preparation. The Mashpee Educator's Association and the K.i anis Club raised $700 from the Easter Bunny Breakfast for the playground project. Mr. Tippo said the playground Will cost $30,000 which sloes not include the undercoating and railroad ties. A rough estimate on how much money has been raised or donated is approximately $25,000. 7.1 personnel eport of Super- 7.2 Leave of Absence - Dr. DeMoura infor~rned the Committee that tendent Dianne J. L u has requested leave of absence for the 1997-1998 school year. Dr. DeMoura recommended approval. Motion made by Mrs. Lynch approving recommendation of the Superintendent for a leave of absence for the 1997-1998 school year with the understanding that Ms. L. of cannot take another teaching job. Motion was seconded by Mrs. Mills. OT : Unanimous
