MASHPEE PUBLIC SCHOOLS <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> June 27, 1997 <br /> Minutes <br /> Attendees: Chairwoman Kathleen Lynch, Theresa Cook, Maryanne <br /> Macdonald, Janice Mills, and Stephen Paxton. Also in attendance <br /> was Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lincoln A. DMoura. <br /> 4 <br /> Mr-s. Lynch called the special meeting of the School Committee to <br /> order at 4:06 p.m. in Room --103 at Mashpee High School. <br /> Mrs. Lynch said the subject of this meeting was to discuss the <br /> FY9 7 budget. <br /> Dr. DeMoura explained the FY97 budget. He said a balance of <br /> $37,219.72 currently exists. However, of that amount, about <br /> $20,000 is expected in electric bills with another $3,000 for the <br /> June telephone bills. Gas bills will be about $1,000; cleaning <br /> items, gasoline, sports transportation, mileage, etc. will total <br /> approx1mately between $5,000410,000; acrd the intercom upgrade <br /> at the Quashnet Fiver School will be $4,000. He stated there <br /> should be a small balance but was {unsure of exactly how much. <br /> As a result of the above, Dr. DeMoura asked the Committee's <br /> permission to transfer funds from Function Balances to Function <br /> Deficits. <br /> Discussion followed between Dr. Del Moura and Mrs. Lynch <br /> regarding functions. <br /> Mrs. Mills clarified that the School Committee grant d to see the <br /> budget transfers as had been clone in the past, i.e., a listing by <br /> function i each amount to be transferred. <br /> With the problems Barnstable encountered this hast year with its <br /> budget, Mrs. Lynch expressed concern over the Department of <br /> Revenue legalities. <br />
