MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING - JULY 21$ 1997 PAGE 2 <br /> Mrs. Lynch questioned the brightness between the Quashnet Malley <br /> (dark) and Quashnet River Schools (light). Mr. Cook said lighting and <br /> painting will make improvements. <br /> Also, she asked if the Coombs School air duality is ready. Dr. DeMoura <br /> said the bids are due on July 11. Mr. Cook reported the rooftop units at <br /> the Quashnet schools are underway. <br /> M . Macdonald asked if the work mentioned above will be completed <br /> during the summer fir. Cook said, "Yes." <br /> 7.13 Assessment of 1996 Summer Progfarn - Mrs. Sandra Feeley <br /> updated the Committee on the Summer School Program of last year. She <br /> said most improvements are made during Summer School classes. In <br /> 1995, the first year of Mashpee's Summer School program, there were 2 <br /> students; in 1996, ; in 1997, 65 students are participating. <br /> 7.2 Food Service Update - Dr. DeMoura said that at the April School <br /> Committee meeting, discussion took place regarding lunch price <br /> increase. With May's loss of$115.54 and a school year total loss o <br /> $10,923.38, he Felt a price increase of milk from $.25 to $.8o and <br /> lunches from $1.25 to $1.30 would help the cafeteria operations figures. <br /> Ms. Macdonald expressed concern that the elementary students should <br /> pay the same rate as high school students. Food Service Director Linda <br /> Warren said Grades K-3 receive the same lunch with Grades --1.2 <br /> receiving one-half ounce more of meat. <br /> Mrs. Warren also noted that the inventory needs to be taken. Mrs. cook <br /> asked when that would be completed. Mrs. Warren said by the enol of <br /> July. Mrs. Cook said the inventory figures could change the profit and <br /> loss statement. At that point, M . Macdonald suggested holding off <br /> voting on any price increase until the July 28th meeting once the <br /> inventory figures are in. The Committee agreed. <br /> ViI. 8.6 High school owner's Manual - Assistant High School Principal <br /> specifically Ron Bock discussed the changes made regarding attendance at "School- <br /> Assigned/ Related Activities", "Repeated Suspensions," "Grade Promotion otion Policy," <br /> Unfinished and "Expulsion." <br /> Business <br />
