This will be discussed at the next renting. <br /> .2 Upper Cape Alternative Charter School -- Dr. Robert Munnell :: <br /> Dr. I eMoura gave a brief outline f the prospectus f the � ichard <br /> Milburn High School (RMHS). Dr. Robert 1 lunnell r addressed the <br /> Committee on this concept whereby RMHS proposes to work with <br /> Interested school committees f the Upper Cape to apply for a <br /> Horace Mann Charter school for up to 100 "at risk's students who <br /> need alternative secondary education. services. The school would <br /> e established under a contract between the Charter Board of <br /> Trustees and RMHS. The school Will feature a complete accredited <br /> high school academic curriculum, law pupil to certified teacher <br /> ratio (15:1), block and nodular schedules, school-to-work <br /> programs, counseling, and experiential learning. The school would <br /> be established along Route 28 that would be convenient to <br /> participating public school districts. Dr. Munnelly said that based <br /> on MHS's track record in Massachusetts and other states New <br /> Hampshire, Indiana, forth Carolina, Florida, Illinois, Virginia, and <br /> the District of Columbia), over 80% ofthe students would stay in <br /> school or graduate. <br /> Dr. Munnelly asked the school Committee to support the letter of <br /> agreement. <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Ms. Macdonald, to <br /> approve the concept oflooking into the Upper Cape Prospectus for <br /> a Regional Alternative school. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous; <br /> 4 <br />
