11 AS PBB SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 7. 1997 PAGE <br /> 9.6 Massachusetts School-Linked ed Ser ices - Due to the lateness <br /> of the hour and the need for oder issues to be discussed by other <br /> audience members, Deborah Battles offered to come back at the <br /> next regular meeting to discuss this topic. Mrs. Lynch suggested <br /> contacting Dr. DeMoura so that a specific time would be set so Ms. <br /> Battles would not have to attend the entire meeting next time. <br /> 9.8 High-school Schedules - As mentioned earlier in the <br /> meeting, Directed Learning was a topic of discussion. Mr. Williams <br /> suggested that Chris Maguire address this issue. <br /> 9.5 Adult Collaborative of Cape„Col for Education and Support <br /> Services I ACCCEss Program - Maur' een Crowle - Maureen <br /> Crowley, Director of ACCCESS, described the program which <br /> provides free adult basic education services in Mashpee. Besides <br /> Ilashpee, the ACCO sS Program has sites at Cape Cod Regional <br /> Technical High school, Dennis-Yarmouth regional High school, <br /> Falmouth High school, Hyannis Adult Learning Center/satellite <br /> campus of Cape Cod Community College, Nantucket High school, <br /> and Truro Central Elementary School. Ms. Growler said lack of <br /> transportation and affordable child care is a critical issue, <br /> however. Hoping to ACCCss accessible to everyone, they have <br /> provided transportation and child care at the D--Y and Falmouth <br /> sites. These schools have provided room space for child cage as <br /> well as the use of a van for transportation to and from the <br /> ACCCBss program. <br /> Ms. Crowley requested the use of an additional classroom at <br /> 11 ashpee High School for child care. There would be no more than <br /> 10 children between the ages of two and ten who would be <br /> supervised by an experienced child care worker. Vis. Crowley <br /> assured the Committee that the classroom would be properly <br /> maintained. <br /> Ms. Crowley also requested the use of a school van for four hogs <br /> each week, Tuesdays and Thursday, from 5:30 p.m.-6:30 p.m. and <br /> 3:30 p.m.-10-.30 o:3 p.m. ACCO sS would provide compensation to <br /> the van driver. <br /> Dr. Deiloura supported of the concept but would have to discuss <br /> with van driver request, in more depth with Ms. Crowley. <br />
