,w <br /> MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE — SPECIAL MEETING <br /> NOVEMBER 1 ., 1997 — PAGE 3 <br /> Full-time guidance counselor <br /> The School Councils goals will be presented at the School Committee's <br /> January meeting. <br /> 2.4 Quashnet Valla_ School — Principal Robert Tippo thanked the <br /> School Committee for their support in additional secretarial help in <br /> the Talley school. <br /> Mr. *hippo said that at their last meeting, suggestions previously <br /> made were eliminated. He asked the Committee to allow for more <br /> site-based management. <br /> At their last meeting, the School Council discussed the following <br /> creeds: <br /> • Full-time guidance co .,nselor <br /> • Additional nurse <br /> • New computers <br /> • Grades 3 and 4 basic and pre-readers <br /> • Teaching assistants <br /> • Summer programs, i.e., College Gate <br /> Mr. Tippo said behavioral as well as at-risk students would need <br /> remedial reacting <br /> After each principal outlined their respective School Council's needs, Mrs. Cook <br /> said she heard again that they need teaching assistants and asked if the <br /> School Committee could revisit this issue at the next meeting. <br /> Mrs. Trills wanted to stress that any override the torn may incur would not <br /> only be at the hands of the School Department but the Police Department, Fire <br /> Department, and all other Departments in Mashpee not only the school <br /> Department. <br />
