However, special education is a wild card with 24-25 <br /> out-of-district placements. <br /> Ms. Macdonald questioned the adjustment counselor salary and <br /> why no payment has been made. Dr. DeMoura answered that <br /> funding for this position is initially men from the grant, Project <br /> Adjust. After utilizing the grant, salary is taken from our budget. <br /> Mrs. Cook asked for clarification on the Quashnet Schools' <br /> guidance counselors. she thought all counselors were full time. <br /> Dr. DeMoura said no, that the Committee's discussion last month <br /> allowed the allocated funds for the counselor at the Quashnet <br /> River school to be spent as a full time position beginning January,' <br /> 28th. <br /> Discussion followed on the full time counselor at the Quashnet } <br /> River school. Mrs. Mills suggested revisiting the guidance <br /> counselor equity at the Quashnet Valley school and bring back to <br /> the Committee during the February meeting. <br /> 7.10 December Suspension - During the month of December, <br /> Ilashpee High school reported 15 students who committed <br /> disciplinary infractions that resulted in out-of-school suspensions. <br /> There were three Saturday School Office Detention sessions held <br /> with a total of 63 students scheduled to attend these sessions. <br /> Mrs. Mills expressed concern over the Richard Milburn school not <br /> receiving approval from the Commonwealth as a Charter School for <br /> at-risk students who reed special dttention. she asked Dr. <br /> Ti eMoura to investigate the possibility of revisiting the concept of <br /> school for student who would benefit from this type of school <br /> environment with other- Superintendents and representatives of the <br /> Richard Milburn School. <br /> +7.12 Street Lights - ,Included in the packet was correspondence <br /> from the Department of Public Works Director Greg 'Traylor who <br /> f <br /> stated that the street Dight Committee had reviewed requests <br /> regarding the placement of street lights at the entrance of the high <br /> school. He said the street Light Committee Will recommend to the <br /> Board of Selectmen installing the utility poles and street lights. <br />
