MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE - SPECIAL MEETING - MARCH 18, 1998 <br /> PAGE THREE <br /> On a motion by Mr. Paxton, seconded by Ms. Macdonald, the <br /> Committee voted to eliminate the PCC program from the 1999- <br /> 2000 school budget. <br /> VOTE: In favor - Mrs. Lynch, Mr. Paxton, Ms. Macdonald; <br /> opposed Mrs. Cook and Mrs. Mills. <br /> Committee members could not agree on all. ofthe recommended <br /> reductions made by the Superintendent and administrators. firs. <br /> Cook stated, "We'd be giving up a program we just began on some <br /> of these things here," High School PrincipalJohn Williams noted <br /> that although he recommended some of the cuts, he does not <br /> support them. <br /> Mrs. Lynch said the average child is haying everything taken aa . <br /> Motion made by Mrs. Cook, seconded by Mrs. Mills, to submit an <br /> FY99 school year budget of $11,750,000 to the Board of <br /> Selectmen. <br /> NOTE: Unanimous <br /> Mrs. Dills commented that the audio-visual department continues <br /> to be in need of additional help. She said the audio--visual <br /> technician has much to do at the high school and the elementary <br /> schools are not being properly serviced. <br /> 51 Capital Improvements - Included in the packet was a memorandum <br /> from Dr. DeMoura listing capital items and inclusion of there in the FY99 <br /> budget. They were: <br /> Auto scrubber (Quashnet Schools) - $ 1.2,Soo <br /> 0 Replacement ofSpecial Education van - $ 29,000 <br /> 0 Five office copiers_@ $4,500 ea i 229500 <br /> TOTAL -- $ 64,000 <br /> Cape Cod Tech Budget Information -- Also included in the packet as <br /> informational was a breakdown of Cape Coil Tech statistics, <br /> 7.
