Mrs. Lynch said there should not be an
expectation of any surplus this year because the School Department is M' deficit now
in the special education accounts.
After more discussion, Mr. Marsters suggested members of the Selectmen, School
Committee and Finance Con"n ittee meet with Mr. Wh t noun to resolve the budgetary
issue.
Another issue brought to the attention of the Selectmen, Mrs. Mills asked they
reconsider purchasing eight video disk players for the high school totaling $7,120.
Last month the Selectmen voted to deny a request for purchasing these items, Mrs.
Mills said no one from the School Committee or School Building Committee attended
the Selectmen's meeting last month to explain the need for eight video disks. She
explained they are needed for the science laboratories and foreign, language
classrooms.
Mrs. Lynch noted these video disks were not included as part of the original purchase
of equipment for the high school because the town-had asked that certain technology
items not be purchased until they were needed.
Mr. Marsters. asked for an update on how much money has been spent at the High
school to slate before voting on the video disks.
joumme t - Motion made by Mrs. Mills, seconded by Mr. Paxton, to adjourn the
joint meeting at ' : 2'p.m.
VO nanimou
Respectfully submi
