ASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE REGULAR TANG - JULY 1 1998 PAGE <br /> 7.5 FY98 Budget Regie - Dr. I, e loura said that as per School <br /> Committee request of the last budget meeting, a printout of the <br /> salaries was included as supplemental information. Dir. DeMoura <br /> said there currently is a balance of $43,744.96 in the FY98 budget, <br /> however, deductions of$ 1,000 for the electric bill and $1,000 for <br /> gas reed to be considered. <br /> IVIS. Macdonald questioned Dr. l; eMoura as to why School <br /> Committee. members must now contact him directly if they should <br /> have any questions on the budget or invoices rather than directing <br /> their questions to the bookkeeper? r. Ieloura said there is a <br /> chain of command that begins With him and if there are any <br /> questions any Committee member may have, he will answer- their <br /> questions each Friday aria "Issues and Updates." <br /> 7. June Suspensions - lir. I eMoura reported the following <br /> June suspensions in the schoolsystem: <br /> Coombs - o; Quashnet Talley - 1- Quashnet Rive- - 1; High <br /> School - 22, with two Saturday School Office Detention <br /> sessions held with a combined total of 62 students <br /> scheduled to attend. <br /> 7.7 Unified Grants - Included in the packet were the unified <br /> grants that applications were completed for under entitlements. <br /> Because of the number of pages required to copy these grants, <br /> Mrs. Cook suggested that in the future a synopsis of each grant be <br /> written and bring along one set of each grant for Committee review <br /> if desired. <br /> ' . "Corrected Education Technology Report Statistics" - Dr. <br /> DeMoura reported on a document previously released regarding <br /> EducationalTech olo � Massachusetts Schools 1997 which <br /> evaluated student access to computers, computer networks and <br /> the Internet in Massachusetts schools. In the revised report, <br /> Mashpee is number 5 in the Commonwealth for technology. <br /> 7. Grade 3 Iowa Test Results - Dr. I; eMoura introduced <br /> Director of Instruction Patricia Parolski to address the Committee <br /> on the results of the Grade 3 Iowa tests taken in April, 1998. In <br /> her synopsis, Mrs. Parolski said overall I Iash ee did well in thein <br /> results. <br />
