1 <br /> MSEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE <br /> SPECIAL MEETING <br /> JULY 28; 1998 <br /> Mlinutes <br /> Attendees: Chairwoman Theresa Cool, Stephen Paxton, Maryanne anne Macdonald, <br /> and Kathleen Lynch, Janice hills was absent this evening. Also in attendance <br /> was Superintendent of Schools Dr. Lincoln A. DeMoura. <br /> The special meeting was called to order by firs. Cook at 7:10 p.m. in high <br /> school room B 103. <br /> The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the results of the Superintendent <br /> Search RFP P that was opened on July 24, 1998. Superintendent Search Sub- <br /> committee member Mrs. Lynch reported on the two vendors who submitted <br /> RFPs. They were NESDEC (New England School Development Council) and <br /> MASC (Massachusetts Association of school Committees . <br /> After listening to both presentations, Mrs. Lynch said both executive search <br /> agencies were "excellent" and both gave fantastic presentations. Alter much <br /> deliberation, Mrs. synch, with the approval of Mrs. Mills, recommended <br /> M.A,s.C. as the superintendent search consultant. The total cost of the search <br /> includes three elements: the process, expenses and advertising broken down <br /> s follows: <br /> A. Sri Process: <br /> $6)000 <br /> Be Expenses: <br /> 5 <br /> Printing and design costs, consultant's travel, p <br /> telephone, postage <br /> p <br /> and similar incidental expenses are charged to the up to a <br /> maximum of $1,500. Any expenses exceeding $1,500 will be <br /> absorbed by MASS. An accounting of all expenses will be given to <br /> the Committee. <br /> C. Advertising; <br /> Because advertising casts can vary greatly depending on the <br /> publications the Committee selects for its announcement of the <br /> 1 <br />
