MASHPEE SCHOOL COMMITTEE -- SPECIAL MEETING JULY 28, 1998 <br /> PAGE 2 <br /> vacancy, paid advertising is billed to the Committee at the actual <br /> cost of the ads. Ads placed in the Sunday Boston Globe and <br /> Education Week would cost approximately $2,800 to $3,000, <br /> depending on size of the ad. The Committee would be given copies <br /> of the invoices and advertisements. <br /> Motion made by IIs. Macdonald, seconded by Mr. Paxton, to <br /> approve M.A.S.C. as the Superintendent search consultant. <br /> 'OTE: Unanimous <br /> Mrs. lynch discussed the search committee which would consist of <br /> the following: <br /> - School Committee members <br /> 1. - Principal 1 - Custodian <br /> 1 - Unit ARepresentative 1 - Selectmen or designee <br /> 1 - Unit B Representative resentative 2 - Community members <br /> 1 - knit c Representative 1 -- Parent <br /> Focus groups would consist of the teachers, School Committee <br /> members, senior citizens, and parents. Mrs. Lynch suggested the <br /> following when selecting the focus groups: <br /> All 1lashee residents (although that would be difficult with all <br /> those interested in serving on the search committee including <br /> staff members <br /> e Community and parents not be an immediate family member to <br /> any school department employee or School Committee member F <br /> 0 Not involving a student due to negotiations aspect <br /> Mrs. Lynch noted the following while searching for an interim <br /> superintendent; <br /> 0 Someone who has fiscal experience <br /> Personnel experience <br /> Past experience <br /> What is the rate of pair and homer many plays per week? <br /> Mr. Hardy from MASC suggested the following prior t <br /> inter-vie ing: <br />
