7:50 PM ---Title V Variance — 31 Amy Brown Road.
Matt Costa of Cape and Islands Engineering, representing 31 Amy Brown Road, introduced himself to the
Board.
Mr. Costa commented that he is requesting a setback from the Soil Absorption System to the foundation. This
project was presented to the Board a while ago, and the requested variances were from well to septic. Part of
that previously approved plan showed a portion of the full foundation area to be a slab foundation. This was
designed for the seller, the property owner at the time, to make the property marketable. Mr. Costa is
requesting relief of 10.7 feet from the full foundation to the Soil Absorption System. Since the regulations
require 20 feet, it will be mitigated with a rubber membrane coating placed on the foundation.
Laurel Almquist made a motion that the Board of Health approve the variance with the mitigation of a rubber
membrane to provide the 20 feet of protection to the cellar wall for 31 Amy Brown Road.
