MAS P E SCHOOL COMMITTEE - REGULAR MEETING - OCTOBER , 1998 PAGE <br /> 7.7 Joint Exploratory Program Agreement from Ca Cod Tech - <br /> Dr. DeMoura explained this is a proposed joint agreement between <br /> Mashpee Public Schools and Cape Cod Tech wherein chosen high <br /> school students would be transported for two hours of vocational <br /> training then transported back to Mashpee for their academic <br /> is <br /> studies. After discussion on this proposal, it was decided to invite <br /> members of Cape Cod Tech, i.e., Superintendent Timothy Carroll <br /> or a Mashpee liaison to the Cape Cod Tech School Committee to <br /> the Mashpee School Committee's November 4th regular meeting to <br /> answer questions. Dr. DeMoura will follow up with a letter to Mr, <br /> Carroll. <br /> VIII. Behr , .1 Superintendent Search Update - The search for a full- <br /> Business/ time superintendent "is moving aloe and the closing date for <br /> Unfinished d interested candidates is October 23-rd. <br /> Business <br /> 8.1.1 Interim Su erintendent - Mrs. Cook said an Interim Superin- <br /> tendent has been hired. His name is William C. MacDonald, a <br /> former superintendent in Winchester-, IIA and former- Bean of the <br /> Management Division, Graduate School at Lesley College. Mr. <br /> MacDonald's interim employment. will begin on October 19, 1998. <br /> .2 Number of Instructional Computers in Element <br /> Classrooms - Pursuant to a Committee request, Dr. I eMour acre <br /> g <br /> an overview o here we are and where we would like to go" with <br /> elementary computers. He said there are currently 528 elementary <br /> computers with 198 In the Coombs School; 150 in Quashnet River; <br /> and 180 in Quashnet Valley. <br /> .3 FY99 Budget Transfers - Mrs. Lynch asked, "Are vire leaving <br /> any area dangerously low " Dr. IeMoura said special education is <br /> low. Teaching salaries are fire as of today. However, the art and <br /> common supplies may be $12,000415,000 deficit.
