School Committee - Joint Meeting with High School council - October 21, 1998 <br /> Page Two <br /> . NEASC Accreditation TTeam -- application has leen made but <br /> not yet granted. Will cost between $12,000415,000. 11 r. <br /> Williams will keep abreast of this. <br /> 7. Salaries for Nein Teachers - suggested hiring at the average <br /> teacher salary rather than at the top end of the pay scale. <br /> . Attendance Officer- currently in the budget and an item that <br /> Mr. Williams and the School Council strongly supports. <br /> . Copy Room Supplies - supplies currently cone out of the high <br /> school budget as there is no line item for system-wide. <br /> Perhaps have a separate line item for copy room supplies. <br /> 10. Copy Room Clerk- Suggestion making this position full time. <br /> 11. ProLessional Development Buctclet - Each principal is allotted <br /> 17000 at the beginning of school. Suggestion made to <br /> increase the professional development budget. <br /> 12. Security Clerk - Due to increasing concerns regarding high <br /> school security, suggestion made to place a clerk in the front <br /> lobby. <br /> Mrs. Lynch said she had attended the Board of Sclectme 's meeting on October 19th <br /> and asked if there would be a reel for ars override next spring? The answer she <br /> received was "Yes." firs. Lynch stressed to them that there is also a fire station and <br /> other items that would cause an override and not just the school department. <br /> Mrs. Lynch asked to send a letter- from the School Committee to the Board of <br /> Selectmen regarding discussion of relocating the Superintendent's office. <br /> Discussion followed on an "after graduation" full/party"." <br /> Mrs. Lynch asked to ensure the boys' and girls' sports budgets are equally spent. <br /> 111, Other As a follow-up to the Superintendent search, discussion followed on <br /> whether to allow Superintendent candidates to be interviewed in <br /> executive session if so requested. A notion was made by Mrs. <br /> j Lynch to have candidate interviews excluded from executive session. <br /> Motion was seconded by Mr. Paxton. <br />
