Mrs . Jacobson -eeon� ed the motion . Mr. Lawrence <br /> -7-111 <br /> was in favor. Mr. Virgilio appeared before the Board to review the Dam Safety <br /> Program - a study done- by Department of Environmental Management <br /> on the Quashnet Fiver Dam and Mashpee liver - Rte, 130 Dam. <br /> M <br /> Mr. Virgilio reeomm' ended the following; <br /> Qua s n t liver Darn -- A. Repair erosion,, down stream slopes, provide <br /> rip-rap, install frames and chain fall arrangement , provide a tow drain, <br /> repair concrete spillway, repair undermined areas of spillway, clean <br /> up debris . B. Prepare an operations and main.tenanoe manual and develop <br /> an emergency preparedness plan , <br /> ..Ma P e kk Buyer - Moate 130 Dam - A. Remove trees and roots, establish <br /> vegetation cover, repair cracked concrete, repair fish ladder. <br /> B. Prepare an operations and main.tenanoe manual and develop an <br /> emergency preparedness plan , <br /> There was discussion of funding and the fact that the repairs are <br /> the responsibility of the Town, Mr, Murphy suggested that the <br /> Department of Environmental Management nt be advised that the Town <br /> is proceeding with the Improvement Program and that an appropriation <br /> does not exist and request financial assistance from the - Commonwealth, <br /> Roger Layton of Commonwealth Electric attended to explain to the Board <br /> new rates for street lights in the Town , The new program will chance <br /> all street lights to odium low wattage lights . He explained that <br /> without a change to sodium, the rates would go - from $24, 004 to $44 , 404 <br /> and with the change to sodlum. from $24 , 004 to $28 ,662 . <br /> Mr, Layton stated that he would Zed ')a decision from the Town <br /> by September 1€ 1988 as to whether the Town will accept the new <br /> program,-. <br /> rogram. - , Th- -'list indicating which street lights will be changed <br /> will be .due ---by October 11 1988 . <br />
