Board of Selectmen <br /> Minutes <br /> April 8. 2002 <br /> OLD BUSINESS: <br /> Request for Mproval of GrantApplication: <br /> George Baker, Fire Chief was present to request the Selectmen approve <br /> the grant application to the FEMA Assistance to Firefighters Program to <br /> purchase firefighter con nunication equipment. The grant,'in the amount <br /> of$33,000 would require 10% watching funds from the recipient <br /> community. Funds have been budgeted for the local match. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Marsters to approve the Fire Department <br /> FE11A Assistance Grant Application as referenced. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Taylor. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. -o, <br /> Request for A royal for brant APPlication—Assin <br /> David Dailey, Director of Assessing was present to request the Board <br /> approve a grant bung offered by the state to connnunities with GIS <br /> systems. The grant would provide f mdmg to enhance GIS data and bring <br /> it into conformance with MA GIS standards. The amount of$12,000 <br /> would be sought in grant funding assistance. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Taylor to approve the Assessing <br /> Department's grant application request as presented. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Leveille. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 5-0. <br /> Bid Recommendations - Dlw; <br /> Greg Taylor, Director of Public works submitted a memorandum to the <br /> Selectmen dated April 1, 2002 relative to bid recommendations. Due to <br /> concerns related to a referenced check for random crack seal, the DPW <br /> Director has recommended the Board award the contract to Crack-Sealing, <br /> Inc. of Raynham for the sura of$3.52 per gallon. <br /> Motion made by Selectman 'Taylor to accept the laid recommendations <br /> as disclosed in the DPW Director's xnemorandurn of April 1,2002 to <br /> include the amendment laid to Crack-Sealing Inc, as recommended. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Marsters, <br /> VOTE: Unanimous, 5-0* <br />
