It was noted that it costs 4 times more to dispose of trash than <br /> it does to recycle. <br /> The Selectmen agreed to defer the matter to the next scheduled meeting. <br /> It was determined the Board would remit additional comments in writing <br /> to the Assistant Director for consideration. <br /> NEW BUSINESS: <br /> SEMASS Update: <br /> Catherine Laurent updated the Selectmen on SEMASS activities. It was <br /> • noted that tipping fees are anticipated to increase in fiscal year 2008. <br /> Location of Town Meeting: <br /> Correspondence was received from the Town Moderator dated February <br /> 17,2006 regarding the site for the upcoming Town Meeting. It was <br /> suggested the meeting be held at the Quashnet School due to concerns <br /> regarding acoustics, handicap accessibility, lighting and size of the <br /> auditorium. <br /> Correspondence was received from Town Counsel regarding this concern. <br /> To address the issues raised by the Town Moderator,the Board of <br /> Selectmen agreed to hold the upcoming Town Meeting in the gymnasium <br /> of the Mashpee High School. Additional considerations brought up by the <br /> Board included,parking for seniors and handicapped residents, and the <br /> difficulty of live broadcast at the Quashnet School. <br /> Motion made by Selectman Myers,subject to the approval of the <br /> School Committee, the Board of Selectmen shall"hold" the Town <br /> Meeting of May 2006 at the High School gymnasium. <br /> Motion seconded by Selectman Cahalane. <br /> VOTE: Unanimous. 4-0. <br /> • <br />
