Costa <br /> THE TAPE 1S NOT PART OF THE MEETING IT 1S FOR THE PURPOSE of <br /> TRANSCRIPTION ONLY, <br /> Mr, Stephen J. Greelish, Chairman <br /> 1. Warrants signed <br /> 2 , ) Mr. Costa motioned to accept the minutes of April 11 , <br /> 1991 , Mr. Doherty seconded, all agreed. <br /> Mr. Doherty motioned to accept the Executive Session <br /> minutes of April 11, 1991 , Mr, costa seconded, all agreed. <br /> APPOINTMENT: South Shore Recycling - Recycling Contract <br /> Mr, Ron Schutz , Mr. Jerry Monahan and V.I .A. Board mem- <br /> bers Jean Thomas, Catherine Conroy, Marie Scally, Phyllis <br /> Desmarais, and P yllis Pas aus as were in attendance for this <br /> scheduled appointment. <br /> M . Thomas questioned the Board as to why some recy- <br /> clahles at the Transfer Station are being landfilled or sent <br /> to SEMASS. <br /> Mr. Gr'eelish informed Ms. Thomas in the past costs to <br /> forward newspaper to a recycling plant exceeded the cost o <br /> disposing of it. Only recently have we found a market for <br /> newspaper where we approximately break even. This Board is <br /> in the process of signing a contractual agreement with a re- <br /> cycling firm. Mr, Greelish explained why papers continue to <br /> e . collected without a varlet for them and the problems as- <br /> sociated with unproper disposal of recyclahles whereby the <br /> bins become contaminated thus unmarketable, Mr. Greel ish <br /> stressed the importance of having volunteers to police the <br /> operation. <br /> Discussion took place in regards to utilizing recycling <br /> revenues towards various recycling programs, <br />
