"The lab results o
this well show that the initial results published were erroneous." "It showed detection at
.5 p.p.b. at bedrock." `This is to let the D.E.P. know that initial tests were erroneous and
there is no threat to private drinking water wells in that area."
. Letter form D.P.H. re: 34 Ca pawack Road - NIr. McQuaid relayed, "Two or three
months ago we received'a letter from the military indicating that this is one of the wells
they happened to test arbitrarily." "The well showed results of 1 I.E.T.E. and 1,1,1,
T.C.A.." "I went out there and retested, confirmed the results, called the Nater District to
find out who else in the area was on private wells and tested five other private wells in the
area," `Two of these wells also showed 1I. .T.E. at such levels that although didn't
create an immediate concern I let D.E.P. and D.P.H. know about the results and my
suggestion was that I would test these wells quarterly." "we're talking about levels less
than 10 p.p.b. where the M.C.L. maximum contaminate level is 70 p.p.b.." "The D.P.H.
responded in writing and nay suggestion was approved however, Mr. Thompson at 34
Cappawak Road contacted me again recently and questioned what I was going to do
about his well." "I referred him to the D.P.H. who has all the documentation and this is
their response."
I went to the neighbors they, on more than one occasion,
i p y
informed nye Mr. Thompson was running a small engine repair shop in his back yard of
lawnmower's and there are witnesses to the fact that he just dumped excess gasoline from
repaired lawnmower's right onto his grass.' "The adjacent property filed for a permit to
run outboard motor repair and that was denied."
Acknowledged.
. Revised Dunkin Donut plan - Mr. McQuaid relayed, "I was informed today the
plan was before the Zoning Board of Appeals last night and was again denied." `AAs
before, Mr. Cram suggested we not even consider this until they are approved by the
Z. .A..9
Board members agreed to continue this matter pending Zoning Board of Appeals
approval.
7. variance request, 1 Tide Run - 11r.
