Cram motioned to accept the minutes of Jure 26, 1997, Mr. Doherty seconded, all agreed. Mr. Cram motioned to accept the minutes of July 17, 1997, Mr. Ball seconded. AI'F INTNIEI T: Bob Collett- Tobacco Control Program i Mr. Bob Collett was in attendance for this scheduled appointment. Mr. Collett stated, "I am here this evening to update the Board." "we did complete a compliance cheek on February 28, 1997." "There were no sales at that tine." "We've had ongoing cessation programs at the Senior Center which are open to the public." "The response to this program has been very good so I propose to do it on a quarterly basis from now ori." "Our presence has been felt in the school systems." "we have supplied the schools with many materials and I also sit on the 1lshpee School Health Advisory Council." "Net week I have arranged for a program to take place at the Mashpee Youth Council Camp at the Middle School." "There will be a group of peer leaders coming in to spear to the children." "We also provided materials for the Mashpee Wampan ag Annual Pow-wow." "we also have provided materials to the Library and Chamber of Commerce, and distributed smoke-fee restaurant guides throughout town." "We participated in the Health and Safety Fair in May and I aim also working closely with the "Together we Can" group on various projects that they are involvedwith." "I would like to suggest to the Board that yob institute a tobacco permitting pol cy for tobacco retailer's. "I think it's a great idea, good ood way to keep track of who's sellingtobacco in i
