MINUTES June 6, 1996 4 BOARD of HEALTH <br /> Mr. Pakkard stated, "Monday afternoon we received two reports."" "one of those <br /> reports documented the work that was done at the o'Gara home, the fact that they <br /> sampled the hone, the provision of bottled water, the installation of a treatment system <br /> and testing that was done to ensure it was working properly." `The other report was <br /> more general and a broader scope." "That report details the work that is going to be <br /> done." "we are going to determine a little better the exact extent ofthis groundwater <br /> contamination problem and also to further assess some ofthe private wells in the area on a <br /> periodic basis if they seem like they might be in an area that might be threatened." `'we <br /> will be reviewing the report over the next several days." "Probably within a week or so <br /> we'll be issuing an approval letter that may have some conditions in it and may have some <br /> further details in the areas where the plan isn't specific." "From . .P.'s perspective this <br /> company has done everything we have asked them to do, as far as, testing goes."' 'b`when <br /> we said to then there is an additional piece of work that needs to be done they have been <br /> pretty cooperative." <br /> Attorney wilansky stated, "We would like to periodically report to the community <br /> publicly here as this matter goes along.'' <br /> Nir. Frigon gave a nide presentation ofthe Augat property and stated he wiU <br /> follow up with a list of action items for the near future. Tering the presentation Mr. <br /> Frigon stated, "'The initial study was to hire a firm to come in, Award Environmental, to <br /> install three monitoring wells." "During the first round of samplings we found low levels <br /> of T.C.E. at the AW3 well." "Based on the findings ofthat D.E.P. was notified i <br /> anu .SI' "what we are required by D.E.P. is to follow-up with what our action plan is <br /> ofoing any further, which we did." "'the second action item we did was we started <br /> g <br /> down our property line putting some wells in to deterne ghat is going on with the site.# <br /> "In the process ofdoing that we ended up with AW7 at high levels than 80 p.p.b. and as <br /> we got closer to Sampson's NM Road levels got higher." "we took arra we put some <br /> wells along Sampson son's Mill Road." `€we got two negatives and one positive."" `That <br /> sequence triggered us to start testing some of the residences in the area." "Based on our <br /> research we fm l now that there was a dump site over by Quaker Run River." "Back in <br /> 1988 there was some TCE found and some material dumped there and the water was <br /> actually found contain nated." "There was also some dumping done on the <br /> Commonwealth Electric easement." "Our plans are basically, to ontrn e installing some <br /> monitoring ells-off'the site!,' `ewe have received permission to install monitoring wells <br /> on the willowbend property." <br /> Mr. Crain questioned, `what was the amount of T.C.E. found at the AW 13 well.# <br /> i <br />
