Page 2. 3/12/80 <br /> Mr. Garland moved acceptance of the Minutes of Feb. 27 and <br /> March 5 , 1980 . Motion passed, minutes ae e ted as written. <br /> 5 r. Garland moved thatJerome Monaghan be appointed to a three <br /> year term on the south Cape Beach Advisory Committee. Motion <br /> passed; Mr. Monaghan appointed to serve until June 30 , 1983. <br /> Mr. Garland moved that Caroline Dunivan be appointed to the <br /> position of Administrative Secretary to the Board of Selectmenr <br /> as recommended by the Personnel Board. <br /> Mr. Me artny of the Press asked about Mr. Denway' s trip to Denver r <br /> whether it was for business or vacation our ores Mr. Garland <br /> stated no vote on the issue had been taken by this Board. <br /> Mr. McCartny asked if Chairman O' Connell had a comment to make on <br /> the election of Hannah Averett as President of the Mashpee <br /> wampanoac Tribe, Mr. O' Connell stated that since he had been out- <br /> of town for several gays , he had been unaware of the outcome of <br /> the elections . He braised Hannah as being a fine woman, and would <br /> like to congratulate her on her election to the position of Presi- <br /> dent of her tribe. <br /> There being no one present for the New England Telephone Company <br /> Hearing, and no opponents , permission was granted for their request. <br /> to At 3 : 00 Chm, opened the Hearing for transferinq managership of <br /> Andy' s sport Shop from Andre Laute to Gretchen Labute, by reading <br /> the legal notice. He asked if there were any who wanted to be <br /> heard in support .of the transfer. There were two proponents <br /> Jean Thomas and Police Chief O' Connor. There were no opponents to <br /> the transfer. Board voted unanimously to grant license to new <br /> Manager, Gretchen Lalute . <br /> 11 Mr. Garland dictated directive to Mr. Turbiano authori inn payment <br /> of cash for men ' s uniform allowance* <br /> 1 Chief O' Connor indicated he would life to qo into Executive Session <br /> to discuss a personnel matter. Beinq aware of the question to be <br /> raised, the Chairman stated that it would be advisable to seek the <br /> guideance of Town Counsel on the question of payment of incentive <br /> pay to the patrolman ,cn .iderinq the submission of a grievance. <br /> l Chairman O' Connell questioned Chief O' Connor for more information <br /> on the CriminalJustice Information system for which he is seeking <br /> funding. The Chief explained the purpose for the computer retrieval <br /> station, and how it would benefit his department. He is recommending <br /> outright purchase of the equipment, as oposed to a leasing arrane- <br /> rent, as this will save the Town $4 , 000 , The Selectmen took no <br /> action, bending an inquiry into. available funds for the nurchase , <br /> 14 Greg Willis , Fire Chief, came before the Board requesting an adjust- <br /> ment in his salary as recommended for next fiscal year. He stated <br /> that one of his first year men made more money last year than his <br /> Deputy. He also stated that he was expeetinq . an increase that would <br /> bring his salary into a range of $20 ,500-x.21, 000 . - The selectmen had <br /> previously agreed to recommend 820 ,2000 In addition, Chief Willis <br />
