Age 2 SELECTMEN' S INUTE Plar h 1901 1980 <br /> $800. 00 to repair- it. <br /> Chairman O'Connell asked Mrs . Simpson the date of the Salute to <br /> Spring which is April '.l , 1980 , and if the Garden Club to take care <br /> f the flower boxes for the Police/Fire Stations and the Town Hall . <br /> Mrs . Simpson said she would look into this matter. <br /> At 2 : 30, Chairman O'Connell called to order the hearing for distribution <br /> f the Revenue Sharing Funds . He stated that Mashpee Mashhas an un- <br /> ap ro iat l nti tl m nt of 9, 2 8 7. 2 and axe anti i at d allotment <br /> of $96 , 000 , 00 , which may never be realized. There was little <br /> discussion on this matter, <br /> Chairman O' Connell said in the past, the money has been used for expenses <br /> .incurred .under special articles in town meetings and that the finance <br /> committee usually recommends mends which articles should be- funded bar <br /> Revenue sharing and which should be paid for out of taxes . The money <br /> has routinely been used for police and fire salaries in the past, <br /> Chairman O' Connell reminded those present of the 4% Tax Cap and that <br /> there is no special provision made to exclude items that will be <br /> reimbursed in the future. <br /> Chairman O' Connell announced the meeting of the South Cane Beach <br /> Ad visory Qommittee meeting for Wednesday, March 26 , 1980 at 7 n.m. <br /> at the Town Hall cafeteria, to discuss alternatives to the State <br /> taking of south Cape Beach. <br /> i <br /> Elizabeth Simpson suggested a Town official appeal to off-Cape <br /> p pl y=. ha -own _land ire Mash to Ming pressure to bear n their <br /> legislators -to support the bill, she stated this can be done through <br /> the P nninsula Newsletter which will be TDublished soon. <br /> i <br /> At 3 p.m. , Chairman O' Connell recognized Mr. John Barry, who had <br /> proiDosal to operate a concession at south Cape Beach this summer. <br /> The Selectmen ex laind to him that it would be inappropriate for them <br /> to hear his proposal at this time, as it will be necessary to ad- <br /> vertise and set a time for all interested 3Darties to present proposals . <br /> The specified bid openinc will be for Al ril 9 , 1980 , at 3 p.m. <br /> resident asked about toilet facilities . That xrvisios have been <br /> -made at the Beach for this summer Mr. O'Connell stated that there <br /> `ill again be port-a-johns , but more of them, this year. <br /> William Hanson asked to be recognized, He stated that he has been <br /> examir in the well roblerr at the libra-rFy. has dome tests and is <br /> awaiting further direction* His best estimate is that a 63foot well <br /> will be required to accomodate the 42 gallon tank that is it the <br /> library. He presented a written estimate of 8943 . 00 for the well, <br /> and asked if an article should go into the special Town meeting to <br /> cover the cost. The selectmen asked the Chairman of the Finance <br /> Committee, Nancy Blakeman, if .she thought a transfer from the Reserve <br /> Fund was - possible. Mrs , Blakeman raise the Dossibil.ity of this money <br />
