.t <br /> t <br /> Chairman announced that the bid opening on the Popponesset Beach <br /> Barrier has been' changed to 8/29/80 at 11: 00 a.m. at the- re lues't <br /> of the' State. <br /> 01, <br /> Unanimous decision that the ' Special Town Meeting on South Cape Beach <br /> will be held on September 22, l9 at 7: 30 p.m, at the Mshpee Middle <br /> School. <br /> Board of Registrars approved date. - <br /> 7. In regards to Article 34, it was decided that it will have to b <br /> reintroduced with a rote of explanation as to why. <br /> No date was set to visit the Missile Site. <br /> 9. Chairman stated that in regards to our Executive Secretary position, <br /> the Personnel Board has divided the 'ap lieations into four -r ps <br /> Most qualifed, Qualified but hold on interviews, Not qualified because <br /> of education or work ex peienee and -Not considered because of <br /> geographical location. <br /> Chairman stated. that an opinion has been received from Tern -Counsel <br /> in regards to our advertisement for at degree. The ualifi ation- <br /> for a decree can not be waived unless we rejected all of these and <br /> readvertis . My concern, speaking for myself., was that we had <br /> people apply that have been experienced selectmen and because they <br /> don' t have a decree, they can not be subject to our review. That' s <br /> unfortunate I 'cause gears of experience can certainly sul situte , <br /> for a degree , . <br /> If you all agree, I think we are restricted to those that have the <br /> decree. Board concurred. <br /> Selectman Thomas s toted that she did not feel that just because <br /> of geographical location that those applicants should be punished <br /> from being considered. Chairman concurred. <br /> Chairman stated that what be would like- to do is - to go through each <br /> croup and eliminated on one criteria and, that is the educational <br /> requirement and to review those that are not being considered because <br /> of geographical location and then send them back to the Personnel <br /> Board. <br /> 10, Motion made by Selectman Thomas , seconded by electman Garland, to <br /> accept minutes of 8/1.3/80. Declared a vote by Chairman. <br /> 11.* Chairman recognized zed I r . Eleanor Ringling. <br /> Mrs, Ringling lin stated that Town Counsel had paused word on to the <br /> Rod and Gun Club -as to the possibility of getting a reduction on <br /> our taxes through conservation and I was wondering how to go about <br /> it. <br /> Chairman stated that for this purpose she should go to the Assessors <br /> and talk with Grace . <br /> -3- <br />
