} <br /> Fr <br /> In regards to letter frog► CCPEDC re ues-ting comments from the <br /> Board on the' .Quaker Run village 'Project, Town Counsel requested <br /> that a sterno be sent to the Board of Appeals asking as to whether <br /> or not the spe-cial permit issued in 1972 has ever been reissued <br /> or modified. <br /> 1 �.. vice Chairman stated that he would like to read the following <br /> letter which is of total surprise to hire: It' s dated <br /> September l 7, 1 and it' s addressed to <br /> "The- Honorable Selectmen <br /> As of November 1, 1980 1 will be terminating my employment <br /> with the Town of I+ ashpee as Recreation Director. During my <br /> remaining period, I would like to assist the Town in hiring <br /> and training of a new director. I thank the Selectmen and the <br /> Town for their support and have hopes of -the Town continuing <br /> the programs which I have developed during my directorship. <br /> Very truly yours ? Bradford V. Norman, Director of Recreation. " <br /> Vice Chairman asked. if action should be taken on this now or <br /> wait for George <br /> Selectman Thomas stated that Brad should know his own mind and <br /> she .would like to meet with hire next Tuesday at because he <br /> has some interesting ideas . I will move that we accept his <br /> resignation effective November 1, 1980. <br /> Vice Chairman seconded the motion and requested a letter be <br /> sent to Brad thanking him for his contributions and indicating <br /> clearly that we except his resignation with great regret and <br /> appreciation. <br /> 16 . Informal discussion took place on the various aspects of south <br /> pe . Beach. <br /> . 1 : Nice Chairman recognized Robert Maxim. lir. Maxim stated that <br /> he would l�.ke 'to present the Board with a petition, A number <br /> of Mshpee residents are not 'lashpee Registered voters nor are <br /> some of the taxpayers but they do nonetheless have a special <br /> interest both in terms of recreation and property value in the <br /> South Cape -Beach issue as it presently stands. For that reason, <br /> we have collected more than 700 signatures many of whoa are non <br /> - <br /> voters of the Town and knowing that they won' t be able to express <br /> themselves at the upcoming Town Meeting in the form of a vote , <br /> they did want to present their signatures to the Board of <br /> Selectmen in hopes that they will recognize than they do have a <br /> very concerned interest' in the state park. The petition reacts <br /> "We, the undersigned residents of the Town of Mashpee , petition <br /> the Mashpee Board of Selectmen to approve the acquisition by <br /> the Commissioner of Environmental Management of the Commonwealth <br /> of Massachusetts , by the exercise of the power of eminent domain, <br /> of approximately 432 acres known as the south Cape Beach area for <br /> use as a recreational and conservation area, in accordance with <br /> the provisions of Chapter 132A of the Massachusetts General Laws.
