r <br /> r Chairman stated that the suggestion here that he 'would like to <br /> act upon is that- the' score 'that these three 'individuals re e ve <br /> at the Academy be used in deter-mining, along with' the previous <br /> s cores, 'the seniority level for, not the hiring date,' but for other <br /> items within the Police Department where -seniority may be required. <br /> Asked Board members how they felt, <br /> Selectman Thomas stated that she agreed. . <br /> Selectman Garland asked if he net all three scores - oral. , written <br /> and the Academy be averaged out. <br /> Chairman responded yes. <br /> Selectman Garland stated that he agreed. <br /> Chairman requested that a letter be sent to the Chairman, Personnel <br /> Board, stating that the Board unanimously voted that the policy for <br /> establishing Seniority, for the newly appointed Patrolmen will be <br /> a combination of the written exam, oval interview and the Academy <br /> grades. Copy of the Board' s letter to be sent to Deputy Police Chief, <br /> and the three individuals involy' ed, <br /> 16. Selectman Garland informed Board that Ray Martini and Mike Makunas <br /> have gone thru the radio Shack Catalog in regards to a sound System <br /> for the building. They recommended a system of a 81 amplifier with <br /> three microphones and 2 portable sound columns- at a. cost of $437. 65. <br /> Nike will prepare "specs. " <br /> Chairman suggested that we go for a special article on this. <br /> 17. In regards to insurance -cover-age for Town Mechanic' s tools, Chairman <br /> suggested that Town Mechanic be contacted to see if he would lease <br /> his tools to ..the Town for a period of one year at $1. 00 per year so <br /> that coverage could be provided. <br /> 18. In regards to claim for payment of land taken from Mrs, Natalie Freeman <br /> during Town meeting of December 12 , 1975 , Chairman requested that a <br /> letter be sent to Mrs, Freeman requesting - that her Attorney, Tom Falwell, <br /> contact Town Counsel. <br /> 19, Chairman announced that the Personnel Board office will- continue to be <br /> open from 8 : 30 a.m. - 12 : 30 p.m, , Monday - Friday. <br /> 20, Chairman announced that at 10 : 00 a.m. on September 3, 1980 bid opening <br /> for recreational vehicle was held. one bid was received from Falmouth <br /> Ford for one 1981 Fora (Flo pickup, six cylinder engine, cap'Itfdr':-bed, <br /> full rustp,roofing, radial tires , rear step bumper, clam green with <br /> Iashpee Recreation painted on both doors - cost to Town $5 ,719. 00, <br /> Chairman stated that we will have to go to Town Meeting for this. <br /> 1. Chairman announced that the first- meeting of the Barnstable County <br /> Selectmen' s Association has tenative ly be scheduled for September 26 , <br /> 1980 at the New Beabury Country .Club. <br /> - - <br />
