F
to sign. I don' t how much -clearer* fir. Benway can
make that.. . We do not have 'the document to sign,
It has not been delivered to us by the state.
CHAIRMAN: You see, the south Cape Beach Advisory Committee
} obviously did not agree to a carte blanche , taking
of eminer t domain by the Commonwealth. They put
alot of strings o.n -it. If they had considered to
a carte blanche taking,' we could sign a document
here tonight simply saying that we authorize
Commissioner Kendall'. in his capacity -as Commissioner
for the DEM. to take land in'-.the Town of Mashpee
for south Cape Beach, We could do that, It isn' t
what the South. Cape Beach Advisory Committee
hammered out and that isn' t what' was voted at -Town
Meeting. It' s a ry specific document. Therefore,
we want to see all those elements in that Agreement
corning from the approval of the. Commonwealth on our
desks for the vote'. That' s the only -way it - can be
binding and that' s the only way all the work that
was but in by- the South Cape Beach Advisory Committee
is going to have - any significance. If it is the
wish o the Town to tale by eminent domain, carte
blanche, by the: .-Commonwealth, then the south Cape
Bead Advi s oy Committee was in error. I don'-t
think they were and that' s what we are waiting-
for.
aiting-
for. That document.
'TOTER: I don"t think it was the wording of that document
that was approved..' It was the spirit o f having a
beach down there. The people -want you to act with
speed t6 get there a beach. - Right now, I think that
they are afraid a comma won" t be right . . . .
CHAIRMAN: The intent of the South Cape Beach Committee was not
the beach. It was 'for passive conservation use of
432 ages . That' s very important, 'hat' s in the
best interest of the '' wry of ashpee'-. A State Beach
is not in the best interest of the Town of Mashpee.
We have two different hall games. The Town Meeting
voted. very specifically -on the motion as presented
by the South Cape Bead Advisory Committee, That' s
what has been discuss time in and time oUt at meetings.
That i , ghat we are awaiting . approval of from the
Attorney General'-s office now.
V TER: so you are saying that it has to come back - exactly
_
the way it i s. Every c or to:., . . . .
CHAIRMAN: I am saying that the legal intent of that document
has to be exactly the same as made on Torn meeting
flog- and .as voted on Town meeting floor*
VOTER: When
people went to that Meeting they wanted reasonable
framework that you can operate in for a state Park.
You know I don't want you to held this up for some
corona or something.
i
l _
