Officer Ames : The dog running loose and also bitting Mrs. Johnson's
• son. There has been hearsay that it has bitten other
people, but they don't want to come forth and file
a complaint.
Town Counsel: Do you of .your own knowledge know of the dog bitting
other people?
Officer -Ames: Just the Johnson boy. and .the Binienda boy.
Town Counsel: Have you received other complaints other than those
present today?
Officer Ames: Written complaint from Mrs. Dearborn who is not
here today. I have had verbal complaints from
Mr. Soltis who is listed on there and Mrs. Harper
who was present at the first meeting and complained
about the dog. Her testimony will be in the Minutes
of that meeting.
Town Counsel: Have you received any complaints about this animal
barking late at night or early in the morning?
Officer Ames: I received a call that the dog was barking, and I
went over there. It wasn't the Johnson' s dog.
It was-:no where like the Johnson' s dog.
• Town Counsel: Then you have no personal knowledge. of any barking
then.
Officer Ames: No.
Town- Counsel: Did you talked=with -the-.Dearborn's when you went=
over to investgate .their complai-nt?
Officer Ames : . Mrs . Dearborn stopped .me:on =the-ro.ad:.the- 21st, -the_:_-
day after =the-:dog was quarantine. She asked-me-,if -
she could have a form because the dog attempted :-to -
bite her son--and _a -fred of hers .
Town Counsel: Did you .go over and investigate this complaint? -
Officer Ames : Yes, I went over to speak with the people that
were attacked by.-the dog.
Town Counsel: This complaint alleges that the dog attempted to
bite her 4-year old son on the leg on Friday after-
noon and attempted to bite an adult victor of hers
on her hip. Haveyoureceived evidence from
Mrs. Dearborn that this was the dog?
Officer Ames : This seems to be a general problem over in Mashpee
• United Church Village. A tendency to let dogs run
morning and night. It is not a new problem over
there or in the Town for that matter.
Town Counsel: Do you have any other information that may be
helpful to the Board?
-8-
