MINUTES F THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN'S MEETING <br /> r+, <br /> w <br /> December 4 , 1980 <br /> 0resent: chairman George A, Benway, Jr,, Selectmen Chester A. Garland, <br /> B, Jean Thomas and Executive Secretary, Town counsel was <br /> not available <br /> 1. Meeting was called to order at 1: 30 p.m. by chairman Benway, <br /> 2. Mr, Joseph DiMaggio met with the Board requesting that a crime <br /> light be installed on the existing pole outside his establishment. <br /> He stated that he has spoken :with the Deputy Chief of Police and <br /> they will furnish a report of the thefts that have taken place � <br /> over the last year,. The Police are in favor of this light. <br /> Chairman requested that the Executive Secretary find out what <br /> costs are involved in regards to this type of lighting. He informed <br /> Mr, DiMaggio gio that he would be contacted after the Executive Secretary <br /> has had a chance to investigate the cost and find out what funds <br /> are available. <br /> Selectman Garland suggested that he consider purchasing a light <br /> fr.,om Kmart for approximately $39- 00 . <br /> 3. Dog officer scheduled to meet with the Board in regards to a decision <br /> relative to a dog owned by Mrs , Peggy Johnson -was c n-c. 'lled. <br /> l ctman Thomas informed Chairman that the Dog officer stated that <br /> the dog has been seen loose one time and he has received one complaint. <br /> 4. Executive Secretary presented Board with letter prepared by Town counsel <br /> at his request to John Ferguson, chairman of middle School Building <br /> Committee, requesting that a final report of the activities of the <br /> Committee be furnished for insertion in the 1980 Annual Town Report. <br /> Letter also instructed that no further monies from the Building Fuad <br /> may be obligated without prior written consent of the Board. <br /> 5, Executive Secretary informed Board that only two renewals for license <br /> holders were ready for their signatures. All others have not passed <br /> inspections by Plumbing Inspector, wiring Inspector, Building <br /> Inspector, etc. , or the inspectors were unable to get into the <br /> establishment. <br /> .i <br /> Executive Secretary asked Board to sign and he would hold until <br /> inspections are completed and signed off. <br /> Selectman Thomas asked if some have extensive work to be performed <br /> and licenses were approved per se , could it be put in writting that <br /> they have X number of time to bring things into compliance or else <br /> license will be revoked. <br /> Chairman stated that he felt we should loop to the inspectors for <br /> recommendations. He requested that the establishments be informed <br /> of these deficiencies in writting and that they also be furnished <br /> with telephone numbers of the inspectors * <br /> _ J <br />
